Greetings! I’m Jane Gibson, writer of fantasy novels, short stories, and poetry. Flying Crow Press is my independent publishing imprint. I am a proud member of the Alliance of Independent Authors. I love natural history, a touch of the fantastical, and happy endings.
I do not use generative AI in the writing of my books because I prefer to choose my own words, because of its high environmental cost, and because it has been “trained” in part using pirated works and/or works for which the creators have not been fairly compensated. I limit my use of AI for other purposes for the same reasons.
I made these books myself. I wrote all the words. I crafted the ebooks and print-on-demand paperbacks using open-source software. I wrote the music. I designed most of the covers using public-domain art or my own photography. I commissioned family members to create the interior artwork and design a cover, and even did some of the art myself. If you like things that are genuine, original, handmade with care, and retain the distinctive print of their maker, maybe you will like my books.
